  • Untouchable (The Ideal of Transparency)

Untouchable (The Ideal of Transparency) at Patio Herreriano Museum, Spain (until 16 September), brings together a selection of works from the last four decades by a host of international artists, including work by previous LAFVA awardee Graham Gussin.

The exhibition draws on ideas of transparency and the relationships between transparency, reflection and opacity. Through films, installations, painting, photographs and performances, each artist explores their own markedly original and divergent ideal of the concept.

Participating artists include Martin Arnold, Ryan Gander, Liam Gillick, Dan Graham and Douglas Gordon.
  • Reminder: Locations For Artists *

As part of Film London Artists' Moving Image Network's (FLAMIN) ongoing series of workshops for artists, Locations for Artists will offer information and advice on sourcing and shooting in a range of locations.

  • And Finally…

Throughout August the BFI Southbank will host the concluding part in a four-month season of films charting the history of artists' film and video in Britain.

The four programmes in August bring this history into the productive late 1960s and early 70s, including work produced around the London Filmmakers Co-op and London Video Arts. The programmes feature works by Peter Gidal, Malcolm Le Grice and David Hall and include many rare works and restorations from the BFI archive.

The season has been programmed by David Curtis to reflect the themes of his new book "A History of Artists' Film and Video in Britain", published recently by the British Film Institute.

Tickets for these screenings can be booked via the BFI Southbank website.
