Date posted: 29.08.2007

The Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network is pleased to announce the return of London Artists’ Film and Video Awards (LAFVA).

The LAFVA scheme, now in its eighth year, is one of the largest publicly funded award programmes for artists' in the UK. Awards are available to London based artists working in the context of contemporary moving image practice.

Film London is offering awards up to a maximum of £20,000. This year the total fund will be £160,000.

LAFVA supports established, mid-career and emergent artists, living and working in the London region and encourages innovative and experimental new work.

Awardees receive up to £20,000 which can cover full production costs or be used to complete existing projects. The scheme is open to proposals for work in any format, length and genre, produced for single or multi screen exhibition in galleries, festivals, specialist venues or cinemas.

Last year’s fund of £160,000 financed twelve innovative projects from a wide range of artists including Marine Hugonnier, Ben Rivers, Anna Lucas and Anja Kirschner.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 22 November 2007.

The 2008 LAFVA Application Pack is now available online. Full details of roadshows, providing information and advice on funding opportunities for artist film-makers, are also available on the LAFVA page.

The LAFVA awards are supported by Film London in partnership with Arts Council England, London.
