Imagined Futures
Date posted: 13.12.2007
Imagined Futures at Camden Arts Centre on Sunday 10 February (10.30 - 5.30) presents a day of artist screenings, performances, talks, discussion and debate investigating ideas around potential futures for artists' film and video.
The event will feature contributions from Malcolm Le Grice, Sonia Boyce, Guy Sherwin, Jean Fischer, Rachel Garfield, Katherine Maynell and Lucy Reynolds, as well as previous LAFVA awardees - Andrew Kotting, Keith Piper and Karen Mirza.
Imagined Futures offers a rare opportunity to experience a diverse and eclectic variety of artistic concern in contemporary film and video practice. Film and video practice has undergone exponential developments in its technology and methodology in little over one century and as such continues to present itself as an increasingly fascinating area for analysis and debate.
Imagined Futures presents a space within in which artists and audience may together address this vast and rapid development, deepen critical dialogue and consequently reflect upon and towards potential futures.
The event is open to academics, film-makers, artists, collectors and the general public. Places are limited, so advance booking is highly recommended.
