High Definition for Artists

Date posted: 15.01.2007

The Artists’ Moving Image Network have teamed up with VET to deliver a free workshop tailored specifically for artists, addressing the use of High Definition (HD) technology.

The workshop will take place at VET in Hoxton Square on Monday 5 March (11am-4pm) and will be free of charge, although a refundable deposit of £25 is required to guarantee your place.

This seminar will address the use of High Definition technology for artists working in moving image; the day aims to demystify the world of HD, explaining jargon and discussing technical issues such as frame rates, HD cinema file types, hard disk playback (including BluRay High Def DVD) and editing options in order to facilitate a clearer understanding of what can be achieved and how to achieve it.  The session will deal with HD for live action as well as graphics and animation work.

VET is a resource and digital facility for a wide range of film-makers, artists and other commercial and non-commercial clients. Their mission is to share knowledge and facilitate the creative process - finding the best possible solutions for exhibition, distribution, archive, and artist’s editions within practical constraints.

More information, including how to book, can be found in the Workshops and Seminars section.
