Locations for Artists
Date posted: 24.07.2007
As part of FLAMIN’s ongoing series of free workshops for artists, on Wednesday 22 August (3 - 5pm) Locations for Artists will offer information and advice on sourcing and shooting in a range of locations.
The session, which will take place at Film London’s offices in Shoreditch, will examine the process, from looking through the script; discussing locations with a director or production designer; scouting and finding the location; getting the permissions; setting up and running the shoot and wrapping up the location.
Susie Williams, Locations & Filming Manager at Film London, will provide an overview of the Film London Locations Department and Locations Library. Following which location manager Crispin Buxton will draw on his experience working in TV drama and feature film to offer advice on finding and negotiating the use of both interior and exterior locations.
Crispin will show relevant footage from previous projects, TV Drama The Trial of Tony Blair and acclaimed feature film The Last King of Scotland, to illustrate the necessary steps and reflect on ways to ensure a problem free shoot.
The workshop will be followed by a Q&A session, providing attendees with an opportunity to ask more specific questions.
