On Friday 30 March (5.30–7pm) at Rich Mix in Bethnal Green, a free one off panel discussion presented by CAPTURE, will address the changing role and skills of producers in artists’ film and video.

With moving image now prevalent in many areas of artist practice and the platforms for the exhibition and distribution of moving image works multiplying, CAPTURE - the national strategic agency for dance and the moving image - is facilitating a panel discussion on the effects that these changes have had on the role and skills of the producer.

The discussion will cover the changing role and skills of Producers in artists' film and video, dance and the moving image, digital media, packaged content and television. Speakers confirmed to date include: Anne Beresford (Producer, MJW Productions), John Wyver (Chairman, Illuminations) and Portland Green (Interim Director CAPTURE and Director PortlandGreen Cultural Projects,).

After the panel, CAPTURE is also facilitating a meeting to determine the future and nature of the Dance & Moving Image Producers’ Network.
