The Screen Actors Guild have announced their nominees for the 25th edition of their Awards Ceremony, and we're excited to see so many productions that filmed in the capital among them.
Following nominations at the Golden Globes for their performances in The Favourite, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz have been nominated for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by A Female Actor in a Supporting Role respectively. Emily Blunt has also received a nomination, for both Female Actor in a Supporting role, and for Leading Role for the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns, shot on location in London. Sandra Oh, for her role in BBC's beloved Killing Eve (which was partially shot in and around London), has received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by A Female Actor in a Drama Series.
The action blockbuster Mission Impossible: Fallout has received Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture. Based at Leavesden Studios, Christopher McQuarrie's second entry in the Mission Impossible series shot multiple action sequences in London, notably at St Paul's Cathedral, Blackfriars and Tate Modern. The production also filmed in Aldgate, Battersea, Pennington Street and Bank Side, as well as using Bishopsgate and Shoreditch to double as Paris and Berlin.
Presented by SAG-AFTRA, The Screen Actors Guild Awards is only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honour performers, presenting thirteen awards for performances of the year in film and TV. The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place on Sunday, 27 January 2019.
