The Film London Jarman Award is an annual prize inspired by one of Britain's most innovative, esteemed and controversial artists of the late 20th century, Derek Jarman. The Jarman Award recognises individual artist film-makers whose risk-taking work resists boundaries and conventional definition. The winner of the annual Award receives a £10,000 cash prize, and a broadcast commission to make five short artworks for Channel 4's new art strand.
Works by all the 10 artists shortlisted for the Jarman Award 2011, alongside a talks programme, will be presented across the Whitechapel Gallery Auditorium, Creative Studio, Gallery 3 and Study Studio spaces.
